It was with great fear and trepidation that I undertook the momentous task of presenting the WET. I wracked my brains over scripts that would dazzle everyone and pictures that would not only inspire wonderful stationery - but might even bring world peace. At some point though, I remembered that WET's are supposed to be fun and that I am among friends here. The fancy scripts and inspired posts (and scantily clad ladies) are your job - not that we can't all work on world peace in the meanwhile....
I tried to keep my esoteric tastes in check to give you a couple of fun graphics to work with. The dragonfly is a transparent gif. I also included Vangogh's Starry Night. During our vacation camping in Northern Iowa, I was awed by the wonder's of a dark and unpolluted night sky - complete with the Milky Way unfolding across the heaven's. <Too, this week was the European/Asian solar eclipse as well as the peak of the Perseids meteor shower visible to all with clear skies...> Anyway, I was reminded of Keat's poem "Bright Star!" - which motivated me to share here.
Bright Star! would I were steadfast as thou art-
Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night,
And watching, with eternal lids apart,
Like Nature's patient sleepless Eremite,
The moving waters at their priestlike task
Of pure ablution round earth's human shores,
Or gazing on the new soft-fallen mask
Of snow upon the mountains and the moors-
No- yet still steadfast, still unchangeable,
Pillowed upon my fair love's ripening breast,
To feel forever its soft fall and swell,
Awake forever in a sweet unrest,
Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath,
And so live ever- or else swoon to death.
I look forward to all of your creations! Let the games begin!
